Lee DeWyze went with his gut and sang "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. He started the performance off acoustically, and then the /nband joined in. The judges felt like someone was finally in it to win it, and Kara and Simon thought he beat out the Round 1 /ncompetition.
